Most riding breeches are made of a variety of stretchy, synthetic materials, like spandex and cotton. For summertime use, riders will want lightweight, breathable material that won’t chafe or cause one to sweat. Microfibers and some cottons provide a high degree of breathability. Some lightweight riding breeches are known as riding tights. Wintertime riding will require a heavier, insulated material. Consumers should look for Polyester-type microfibers for warmth in cold weather.
